Ever since I began to plan my retreat, Discover the Goddess Within at Lunita Retreat Center in Puerto Morelos Mexico, I have become slightly obsessed or taken over by what I would call “Goddess Energy”. I’m at a level of high oxygen and ideas and images are bubbling forth. I’m happier and energized and my thoughts are moving in all directions. I’m picturing all of us sitting in a circle and feeling this energy on a collective level, the ancient and sacred earth and culture of the Maya sitting with us. It’s a powerful feeling and I know it will happen there for every woman who attends. I’m experienced enough to know that this is my dream or fantasy and that everyone will bring the grounded reality and truth of where they are in their lives at the moment. For the concept of the goddess is not some idealized female brand that we must take on in order to live fully. Rather, she is the embodiment of what it means to be fundamentally and ‘rawly’human. Whatever culture she comes from, Greek, Roman, Nordic, Maya’, Korean, Indian etc. she brings truth to her story, through her journey, and her trials. It’s important not to get hung up on the word Goddess as anything more than a human woman (who is also not human because of her immortality). She is wedded to her story, her culture, the seasons of planting and growth, male and female cultural expectations and limitations, the cycles of her life through Maidenhood, Motherhood, Queen and Crone years. She is sensual, strong and at time humanly weak and real, like us. She possesses ‘superpowers’ as well as flaws. She is a teacher and guide.

She will take on many forms as you get to know her. Knowing her and embodying who you are fundamentally, will bring your life both closures and openings. The approach is playful, imaginative and creative. I cannot wait.
